In June 2005 EEZ commenced the construction of a wind park in Poland. The construction work was finished in June 2006. The wind farm is located in Tymień, in the Zachodniopomorskie Voivodship (Będzino Commune, Koszalin District).
The Project site covers 1000 ha, and is located 5 km from the seashore. Average wind speed on the investment site is 7,3 – 7,4 m/s. and the total production capacity of the Wind Park is 50 MW. With the average projected wind speed, the annual power output of the whole wind park will be about 100 GWh. The wind turbines we have chosen, Vestas V.80, which each produces 2MW and has a rotor blade diameter of 80 meters, are mounted on 100-meter towers equipped with lifts. The total investment amounts to over PLN 240 million and was realized in cooperation with the Bank Ochrony Środowiska BOŚ S.A. and the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management. The Company has also been granted subsidies from the Sectoral Operational Programme Increase of Competitiveness of Enterprises and the Ecofund Foundation.
As a result of the investment the following environmental effest will be achieved:
1. construction of the Tymień Wind Park with a capacity of 50 MW,
2. average annual electricity output of 100,000 MWh,
3. with a wind turbine electricity output of 100,000 MWh, the amount of pollution to the atmosphere will be reduced by the following amounts:
● SO2
780,0
Mg annually
● NOx
320,0
Mg annually
● CO
20,0
Mg annually
● Co2
93 700
Mg annually
● Dust
110
Mg rocznie
The above-mentioned amounts have been calculated by comparison with annual rated of emission of 1MWh of power produced in conventional power plants.
It is expected that the environmental effect will be reached on 30th June 2007.
